Dubai Shopping Festival

This annual festival is a mega event and prompts many from all over the globe to plan their Dubai holidays during this time. The 2011 festival will be held from 20th January to 20th February. Besides unbelievably high discounts and tax free shopping, millions of Dirhams would be given out in prizes and daily draws. Right from exotic jewellery to designer clothing, everything would be up for grabs.

Omega Dubai Desert Classic

Anyone, who would like to watch golfing legends from across the world in action, would do well to be present at the Emirates Golf Club, Dubai, from 7th to 13th February. The Emirates Golf Club is the venue of the Omega Dubai Desert Classic. The event has become a powerful crowd puller since its inception in 1979.

Dubai World Cup

The Dubai World Cup, worth US$10 million is the most expensive horse racing championship in the world. The best of the best thoroughbreds set the racing track on fire. This Group 1 Flat Race is held at the iconic Meydan Racecourse usually at the end of March. Bride Show Dubai

Dubai Summer Surprises

Inspired by the Dubai Shopping Festival, the Dubai Surprises is one of the biggest events of its kind in the world. Although, sky high discount shopping is the highlight, the festival also spells as endless fun time for kids as well as entire families. In 2011, the event would be held from 22nd June to 31st July. Art Summer Camp

The Art Summer Camp is a great place for entertaining and honing the skills of kids aged 6 to 12. This annual camp is held from July to August and features a world of creative activities spanning painting, pottery, and a lot more.

Ramadan

The hottest brands in fashion from the region and elsewhere are presented and there are animated stimulating discussions on haute couture. Finally, on the last day of the event, the fashion collections are sold off to the general public.

Dubai National Day Festival

Come 2nd December and all of Dubai seems to go mad celebrating Dubai’s independence from Britain. Monuments, shopping malls, and souks are all decked up grandly and there is a galore of exciting events like camel rides and parachuting shows.

Desert Rhythm Festival

During October to November, the Desert Rhythm Festival rocks Dubai. Musicians from across the world converge upon Dubai and there is an indescribable fusion of different music forms like Western, South African, Caribbean, Urban & Soul, Latin, Turkish, and Arabic.
