Sher Bagh is located at the edge of Ranthambhore Tiger Reserve, the finest place in the world to see wild tigers. The Ranthambhore Tiger Reserve lies at the junction of two of India's most iconic hill-ranges; the Aravallis and the Vindhyas and is one of the finest places in the world to see wild tigers. It is also the western most extent of the tiger's present range, the only dry deciduous, dry thorn forest to host a natural population of wild tigers. The Reserve takes its name from the crenelated fortress of Ranthambhore, which sits atop a hill surrounded by the forest and is one of India's largest and oldest forts. A great diversity of wildlife thrives across Ranthambhore's spectacular landscapes and ecosystem including leopard and bear as well as a large number of prey species.
Designed on the 1920's safari accommodations preferred by Princes and Grand Seigneurs of the time, each tent at Sher Bagh is furnished with 19th century "Campaign Style" furniture. Sher Bagh is a pioneering camp of 12 luxurious tents nestling in verdure, on the borders of the world renowned Ranthambhore Tiger Reserve. The air-conditioned Luxury Tents have been upgraded to offer more space and the pool, with inspiring views of the surrounding Tiger Reserve, and rejuvenating massages in the Jungle Spa, are some of the other attractions of this pioneering luxury tented camp.
