Itinerary

Day 1 Arrive Christchurch
Meeting service and pick up your car at the airport depot and drive to your hotel for the night.

Overnight: Elm Tree House

Day 2 Christchurch/Dunedin (362km) B
Make your way to New Zealand´s "Scottish City", Dunedin. On the way view the Moeraki Boulders and turn off the main road to explore some of the Central South Island scenery.

Overnight: Glenfield House

Day 3 Dunedin B
A day at leisure to explore Dunedin City and the peninsula which is home to penguins, seals and the mighty albatross.

Overnight: Glendinning House

Day 4 Dunedin/the Catlins (170km) BD
Drive along some of the South Island´s most beautiful coastline and stop for short walks on the beaches or through the native bush. Tonight stay on a South Catlins farm.

Overnight: Catlins Farmstay

Day 5 The Catlins/Stewart Island (75km) B
Take time to enjoy your rural setting before travelling to Bluff and then by ferry to Stewart Island. Leave your car at safe storage at Bluff (additional cost applies).

Overnight: Greenvale B&B

Day 6 Day at leisure - Stewart Island B
A day of leisure to explore Stewart Island. A boat ride is included to visit the bird sanctuary of Ulva Island.

Day 7 Stewart Island/Te Anau (210km) BD
This morning catch the ferry back to the South Island and travel via the Southern Scenic route to Te Anau.

Overnight: Fiordland Lodge

Day 8 Te Anau/Overnight Cruise on Doubtful Sounds (210km) BD

Overnight: Overnight Cruise on Doubtful Sound Note: Cruise does not operate mid May to 30th September - during this time tour will spend two nights in Te Anau with a full day Doubtful Sound Cruise ex Manapouri including a picnic lunch on board. This means from mid May to 30th September this itinerary will be 10 days.

Day 9 Doubtful Sound/Queenstown (205km) B
After returning to the wharf at Doubtful Sound retrace your steps to Manapouri and then on by car to the Adventure Capital of the World, Queenstown.

Overnight: Browns Boutique Hotel

Day 10 Depart Queenstown (10km) B
After a day exploring the attractions, activities and sights of beautiful Queenstown, your tour concludes with returning your rental car to the city or airport depot.
