Tips

Destinations in the Far East region are quite conservative as compared to European and American destinations. Though people are tolerant towards foreign vacationers, it pays to be respectful towards local traditions and cultures!

Almost every Far Eastern destination follows its own set of local laws and customs, and regulations. It is important to get well acquainted to significant local laws to avoid ruining otherwise pleasant holidays to the region. For example, most destinations in Far East follow strict laws when it comes to drug offences, so visitors must refrain from drugs when on holidays to the region.

Though Far Eastern destinations are fairly safe for holiday trips, there are a few remote areas in Indonesia, the Philippines and Thailand that must be avoided by visitors! Foreign visitors must exercise general safety precautions to avoid any unforeseen incidences while on holidays to the Far Eastern destinations.

Visitors to almost all destinations to the Far East region must avoid being overly amorous in public as public display of affection is looked down upon and treated with disdain in region. Especially homosexual couples must refrain from being overly amorous in public.

Though quite expensive, medical facilities at major destinations are quite satisfactory. However, hospitals and clinics in many areas are not always up to UK standards. Also, many hospitals and clinics require guarantee of payment for the hospital bills before they begin treatment. It makes sense to heed necessary vaccinations and medications to last the trip at least eight weeks before embarking on the journey to the Far East region. It is smart to take out comprehensive travel insurance and medical insurance before travelling.
