COVID-19 Message

Dear Valued Customer,

These are challenging times for us all. Our first key priorities are to safeguard the health and well-being of our customers and employees. We appreciate that your travel arrangements, and the travel industry as a whole, has been particularly effected by the outbreak of COVID-19.
During this time we ask you to take into account the following:

  • Until 15th Apr, as instructed by government, our teams will be working from home. This will impact our call capacity at a time of high demand.
  • For all bookings please email us at covid19@awayholidays.co.uk. Our teams are here and able assist you, to advise the best options possible. Please include your departure date, booking reference/invoice number and airline in the subject line.
  • For latest foreign travel advice, please check the Foreign and Commonwealth Office website https://www.gov.uk/foreign-travel-advice
  • We would also like to assure you that your money spent on your travel is completely safe. Away Holidays will provide you with all necessary assistance, alternative flight options, refunds or credit for future travel per the airline’s policy. Thanks to our ABTA membership and ATOL bonding, your money is secure.

PACKAGE HOLIDAY BOOKINGS

We appreciate your patience and co-operation during these unprecedented times as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. We have been working tirelessly to ensure queries are resolved on your behalf and liaising with airlines and other suppliers in order to safeguard your payment. Please find the following options to resolve your queries and concerns:

  • 1. Changing your holiday date: some airlines are currently offering very generous amendment terms, allowing customers to move their holiday dates for free, without a fare increase (or for a limited fare increase). This means, where you have booked off-peak fares, you may be able to travel during on-peak times for no or a limited fare increase. We very much encourage customers to take advantage of these generous amendment terms and re-book their holiday for a later date. Please contact us if you wish to take advantage of this and re-book your holiday.
  • 2. Refunds: where we have had to cancel your holiday and you do not wish to re-book, we are offering a full refund of the amount you have paid to us, and this is irrespective of whether we have received money back from airlines and other suppliers. Currently, we have had to cancel holidays up to and including the 15th May 2020. We will endeavour to issue all refunds for these cancelled holidays by the end of May 2020.

We strongly recommend that you choose the option of changing your holiday date in order to take advantage of generous amendment policies and it will allow you to re-book your holiday for a future date. However, we recognize that some customers’ financial situation may have changed as a result of COVID-19 and as such a refund is required. Please contact us with your preferred choice to settle the matter and to enable us to expedite the process to resolve your query at the earliest.

Please note that a time when other travel companies have had to furlough staff/reduce staffing levels, we have actually increased our staffing levels in this department in order to deal with increased customer enquiries and to maintain our excellent customer service. As such, our call centre currently has an average call waiting time of no more than two minutes.
