Visit the best hotels in Singapore
When you book a holiday to Singapore with Away Holidays, you’ll get to pick from a selection of the best hotels in the country. We love luxury, which is why our hotels are all four- and five-star, with many including additional thoughtful touches like breakfast, rooftop pools with breath-taking views, on-site gyms, airport transfers, and more.
Eating out in Singapore
Clarke Quay, Boat Quay and Robertson Quay are home to some of the top restaurants and bars in the country – three of which have featured on Time Out’s World’s 50 Best Bars list for 2025: Jigger & Pony, Nutmeg & Clove, and Native. There are also countless rooftop bars to sip cocktails at, while enjoying breathtaking views of the city – one of our favourites is Southbridge.
When it comes to food, during your holiday in Singapore, you need to visit the many hawker markets, which serve up traditional Asian delicacies for a fraction of the cost of restaurants. From satay to char kway teow; spicy banana leaf stingray to pork noodles, it’ll take you a while to work your way through all the food on offer!
Sights to see in Singapore
If you love to be at one with nature, then you’ll have over 50 major parks, as well as four nature reserves to visit. Gardens by the Bay is a must-ese, with its cloud forest dome and OCBC Skyway, which is especially breathtaking at night, when the trees are lit up. However, you should also carve some time out for Singapore Botanic Gardens, and the MacRitchie Reservoir Park.
If you’re on a family holiday in Singapore, then make sure you visit the world-famous Singapore Zoo, which hosts a nighttime safari, as well as Jurong Bird Park.
Sentosa Island is another place that has lots of key sights in Singapore. As well as being home to the larger, resort-style accommodation (some of which have beach clubs), it’s also host to Universal Studios and Adventure Cove Waterpark.
No matter what you choose to see during your time here, you’ll be able to get around the country quickly and easily, with Singapore’s modern transport system (MRT) connecting all key sights together.
Shopping in Singapore
When on holiday in Singapore, shopping is non-negotiable! Visiting the luxury malls is a tourist attraction in itself. Make a bee-line for Orchard Road, where you’ll find several malls, including ION, which is home to more than 300 retailers, sprawled over eight floors.
For younger fashion, head to 313 Somerset; or for a touch of tradition, head to TANGA, which is the oldest department store in the country, and sells many local designers, alongside larger international brands.
Of course, it’s not just fashion and electronics you can pick up in Singapore. If it’s souvenirs you’re after, then you can barter your way to a piece of Peranakan porcelain; or if you’re looking for something a bit more affordable, shop for textiles on Arab Street or Mustafa Centre, or some authentic Malay bead jewellery.
