10 Days Chongqing, Yangtze River Cruise, Beijing and Shanghai

Upon arrival in Chongqing, you will be greeted and transferred to the port. Here, you will embark on your Yangtze River Cruise and settle into your cabin before departure. No meals are included today, giving you the flexibility to dine at your leisure. 

Spend the day sailing along the legendary Yangtze River, where ever-changing scenery and optional shore excursions await. Onboard dining is included throughout the day, with breakfast, lunch and dinner served as you enjoy one of the world’s great river journeys.

Your cruise continues along the Yangtze as you relax on deck, take part in onboard activities or join an excursion to explore riverside towns and cultural sites. All meals are provided onboard, with breakfast, lunch and dinner available as you travel.

After breakfast on the cruise, disembark in Yichang and transfer to the airport for your flight to Beijing. On arrival, youwill be escorted to your hotel, where the rest of the day is free at leisure.

After breakfast at your hotel, begin your exploration of Beijing with a visit to Tiananmen Square, followed by the Forbidden City, where China’s emperors once resided. In the afternoon, experience the charm of the city’s Hutongs on a traditional rickshaw ride and visit a local courtyard home before returning to your hotel. Dinner this evening is at leisure.

Enjoy breakfast at your hotel before travelling to the Great Wall at Mutianyu, where a cable car takes you up to the ramparts for panoramic views and the chance to walk along this world-famous landmark. In the afternoon, continue to the Summer Palace, a serene lakeside retreat of the emperors. Return to your hotel in the evening, where you are free to dine at your leisure.

After breakfast, transfer to the station for your high-speed train journey to Shanghai. Upon arrival, you will be met and taken to your hotel, with the remainder of the day free to relax or explore the city at your own pace.

Following breakfast at your hotel, visit the Shanghai Museum, home to a world-class collection of Chinese art and cultural relics. Continue to the beautiful Yu Garden before strolling along the Bund, where colonial architecture stands opposite the modern skyline. In the afternoon, ascend the Shanghai Tower for sweeping views of the city before returning to your hotel for an evening at leisure.

After breakfast, travel outside Shanghai to Zhujiajiao, a traditional water town with stone bridges, canals and narrow alleys. Take a boat ride along its waterways, explore historic sites and enjoy local snacks or delicacies before returning to Shanghai in the evening, where dinner is on your own arrangement.

Enjoy a final breakfast at your hotel before transferring to the airport for your onward flight, marking the end of your China adventure.
