A 3 day river cruise in the Lower Mekong between the bustling city of Saigon and Cambodia’s vibrant capital Phnom Penh. You will also travel through the lush countryside, and cross the border between Vietnam and Cambodia. In this cruise you will  learn about Vietnamese life on the Mekong Delta and learn about the role of traditional communal temples in Vietnamese village culture.

  • Day 1 Saigon - Mekong Cruise - Can Tho

    Enjoy a relaxing day cruising the Mekong Delta by converted rice barge Le Jarai and small local boats. Travel from Saigon to embark on a localboat at Ben Tre, from where the cruise visits a coconut factory where the oil, flesh and husk is processed. Then a journey through winding arroyos by local boat, and a short walking tour in the creekside setting of a local village to see traditional mat weaving by hand in a friendly local farmer’s house. Then drive through the beautiful rice paddies of the Mekong countryside to a local pagoda and learn about the role of traditional communal temples in Vietnamese village culture. Embark LeJarai and continue the cruise in the shadow of water- coconut palms while enjoying a demonstration of traditional Vietnamese cooking before a sumptuous three course lunch including Mekong specialities on-board. Relax while cruising the pleasant waterways on the way back to Ben Tre. You will then be transferred to Can Tho to your hotel for an overnight stay.  Read More

    In the morning visit Cai Rang floating market. Arrive in Chau Doc around lunchtime, enjoying typical rural scenery en route. After lunch, take a walk around the town and see the bustling market, then continue to Sam Mountain, with its breathtakingly views over the rice paddies to the Cambodian border.

    Wake up early in the morning to visit the bustling riverside market of Chau Doc. After breakfast at the hotel, board a boat to cross the Vietnam border to Cambodia. During the Vietnam War this was the most dangerous crossing in the Mekong. On arrival in Phnom Penh, your guide will meet you at the dock and transfer you to the airport or to your chosen hotel where your tour ends.
