Depart the UK for Japan. 

Upon arrival in Tokyo, you are welcomed by an English-speaking representative and transferred to your hotel. Settle in and enjoy your first taste of Japan’s vibrant capital. 

Explore the contrasts of Tokyo on a guided city tour. Visit the historic Asakusa Sensoji Temple and stroll along Nakamise Street, lined with traditional snacks and souvenirs. Enjoy views of the city from Tokyo Skytree, delve into Japan’s national sport at the Ryogoku Sumo Museum and experience the futuristic energy of Akihabara, famous for electronics and pop culture. 

Travel into the countryside to admire majestic Mount Fuji, visiting scenic viewpoints and parks in the Kawaguchi area. Enjoy sweeping views, peaceful nature and classic photo spots before returning to Tokyo. The evening is free to explore the city’s nightlife or dining scene at your own pace. 

A free day to explore Tokyo independently. Optional experiences and excursions can be arranged, whether shopping, food tours or cultural activities. 

Journey by high-speed bullet train to Kyoto, the cultural heart of Japan. In the afternoon, explore highlights including the enchanting Arashiyama Bamboo Forest, the iconic Golden Pavilion (Kinkakuji) and a walk through historic Gion, where you’ll gain insight into geisha culture during a special Maiko encounter. 

Visit the famous Fushimi Inari Shrine, renowned for its thousands of vermilion torii gates. Enjoy a sake brewery visit and tasting, then travel to Nara, home to the impressive Todaiji Temple and Nara Park, where friendly deer roam freely. 

Enjoy a full day at leisure to further explore Kyoto’s temples, gardens, tea houses or traditional streets at your own pace. 

Travel to Hiroshima, then take a ferry to Miyajima Island to visit the iconic Itsukushima Shrine and its famed “floating” torii gate. Later, enjoy a Zen meditation experience, followed by a relaxing onsen hot spring while dressed in a traditional yukata. Overnight in Hiroshima. 

Reflect on history with visits to the Atomic Bomb Dome, Peace Memorial Park and Peace Memorial Museum. Continue by bullet train to Fukuoka, where you explore cultural sites such as Dazaifu Tenmangu Shrine, a serene Japanese garden and enjoy a guided evening food walk through Nakasu’s famous street stalls. 

A highlight of the journey: attend a live sumo match, experiencing the drama, ritual and power of Japan’s national sport. The remainder of the day is at leisure. 

Travel to Osaka, known for its vibrant food scene and lively atmosphere. Enjoy a guided tour featuring Osaka Castle, Kuromon Market, Doguyasuji Kitchenware Street and the neon-lit streets of Dotonbori.
