The Western Wonders of Madagascar - Baobabs & Tsingy Expedition

Upon arrival, you’ll be transferred to your hotel near the airport. Take this time to rest and prepare for the exciting journey ahead. 

Begin the journey south, passing through scenic rice fields and traditional highland villages. A stop in Ambatolampy introduces you to Madagascar’s famous aluminium craftsmanship. After lunch in Antsirabe, continue towards Miandrivazo, a town known for its warm climate and local culture. 

Travel westward to Morondava, entering the land of the Sakalava people and the iconic baobab trees. From here, head to Kirindy Forest, home to Madagascar’s elusive predator, the fosa. In the evening, embark on a nocturnal walk through the reserve to spot its fascinating wildlife. 

Start the day with a morning visit to Kirindy Reserve before embarking on an adventurous journey to Bekopaka. Cross the Tsiribihina River by ferry and continue along rugged tracks toward the gateway of Tsingy de Bemaraha, a UNESCO World Heritage site. 

Spend the day discovering the striking limestone formations of Tsingy de Bemaraha, an otherworldly landscape of towering rock spires, deep canyons and hanging bridges. For those looking for more, an optional pirogue ride along the Manambolo River offers a chance to explore caves and Sakalava burial sites. 

Journey back towards Morondava, crossing the Tsiribihina River once again. As the day comes to an end, witness the breathtaking sunset at the famous Avenue of the Baobabs, where the towering ancient trees glow in the golden light—a perfect moment for photography. 

Enjoy a leisurely morning in Morondava before flying back to Antananarivo. Upon arrival, embark on a short city tour, discovering the charm of Madagascar’s bustling capital. 

Spend the morning browsing the vibrant handicraft markets for souvenirs before transferring to the airport for your onward journey. With unforgettable memories in hand, bid farewell to the enchanting landscapes of Madagascar.
