  • Day 1 Cancún - Ekbalam - Cobà – Mérida (390 km)

    Upon your arrival in Cancun, enjoy transfer to a hotel. After some rest, you would proceed to Merida.  You are going to visit Coba, an archeological site that was destined to be saved from Spanish Invasion. It is also the place where the tallest Mayan pyramid of Mexico- “Nohoch Mul” is located. From here, you will move to Valladolid to visit another archeological site- Ekbalam. Built between 700-1000 AD, Ekbalam means “Black Jaguar” and owns the beautiful Plaza Central. Comprised of three ceremonial sculptures, “La Torr e” (The Tower) is the main pyramid of Central Plaza and undoubtedly one of the outstanding Mayan structures in the southeastern region of Yucatan. After in taking the Mayan beauty, it will be time for lunch and relaxation in a nearby restaurant. Post this; you resume your journey to Merida. Here you will take a tour to know for yourself why this city is also known as the white city. Having an eclectic blend of Arabic, French, Italian and colonial architecture, the Houses here embody the wealthy saga of Sisal culture. You would stop at Zocalo to visit the landmarks of the city- the Cathedral, the Government’s Palace, the Municipal Palace and the Francisco Montejo’s House.     Today you are going to visit the Uxmal archaeological site. An archetype of the classic and post-classic Mayan period, Uxmal literally means “built in three stages”. Admire the main structures of Uxmal that includes Pirámide Del Adivino (The Fortuneteller’s Pyramid), Palacio de los Gobernadores (Governor’s Palace) and the Cuadrángulo de las Monjas (Quadrangle of the Nuns). After this, you will enjoy lunch at a nearby restaurant. Next, you return to Merida in the afternoon with the rest of the day at your leisure.
